Wirksworth has a wealth of beautiful walks, for many different fitness levels. As you’d expect from being just outside the Peak District, please note that this is a hilly area. Look out for those walks marked ‘flat’ or ‘wheelchair/buggy accessible’ – we mostly recommend that people leave their high heels at home!

Soon we’ll be including detailed walks in the following categories – in the meantime, check out the leaflets for circular walks around Wirksworth below.

  • Walks of 5 miles or fewer
  • Flat walks
  • Longer walk – 10 miles plus
  • Pub Walks – longer walks with a pub (sometimes serving food) – weblike to go from Wirksworth, via Summer Lane, up the ‘Roman Road’, to Hopton, through Hopton & Carsington, over Carsington Pastures to Brassington. Stop there for a Pub Lunch at the charming Ye Olde Gate Inn, Brassington Website here: or The Miners’ Arms More Details…
