YOUTH PROJECTS

At Antony Gell School our Club supports students in Y10 and Y11 in their preparations for further studies or employment by involvement in their preparations of CVs.

Club also sponsors and supports students wanting to participate in the District’s annual Young Chef Competition, and have been delighted by the steadily rising standard of menu planning, budgeting and cooking that students have brought to their Young chef efforts in recent years.

Our Club also continues its long support for Young Speakers, with annual showcase competitions for students in both Y7-10, and Y11-13. This competition encourages and develops the student’s individual skills and competences in respect of public speaking, logical thinking and social confidence.

New in most recent years has been Club’s support for Young Artist and Young Musician for students in all Y groups, with those being awarded, and their parents, being invited to display their emerging talents at a Club night.  New in 2018 will be the Club’s support for award of a Young Media Designer and a Young Technology and Design (Crafts) student.

All of these awards depend for their success on the active involvement of relevant members of staff from AGS, and Rotary is grateful to them and to the Head teacher for their unstinting support.

At primary level, members of the Club continue to support on weekly basis, Young Readers in R-Y1 and Y2 year groups.

The Club is very keen to contribute to the development of the potential and interests of the town’s young people. It welcomes ideas and requests for any initiative intended to promote such developments, including support for individual students who might be undertaking particular challenges or projects.
