Wirksworth Wizarding Day

Wirksworth Wizarding Day welcomes all wizards and witches on Saturday 26 October 2019, who can expect magic and wonder, snakes and owls, broomsticks and train rides, and thousands dressed in their best robes.

Witches and wizards of all ages can enjoy a range of magical activities including a  market for wizardly crafts and activities, search the objects hidden in the wizardly windows, and screenings of Crimes of Grindelwald. You can test your wits against the wizard quizmaster in the family quiz, listen to storytellers, and check out magical bushcraft at Mount Cook where you can fly on the zip wire. There will be special wizarding express trains from Duffield to Wirksworth, a steam train on the incline branch line to Ravenstor Station for Mount Cook, and the London Routemaster bus will make a return – you can even ride on it to Wirksworth from Burton and Derby.

If you wish to stay in Wirksworth for Wizarding Day, there are lots of accommodation options. Wizarding Day sponsor, Mount Cook Adventure Centre, is offering a special magical package of a 1 or 2 night stay via www.mountcook.uk/events.

Details about activities and bookings for the train, and park and ride can be found on the Wizarding Wirksworth website and Facebook page.

Wirksworth Wizarding Day is a volunteer-run community-led charity fundraising event, put on by local charities and volunteer groups to raise funds for their good causes. It is not in any way connected with Warner Brothers Studios, JK Rowling or Bloomsbury Publishing.
