Geoff Diego Litherland is an artist, lecturer and Director of Haarlem Artspace. His paintings seek to re-examine our relationship to landscape, by exploring its material properties and historical legacy he seeks to present alternative models of interaction and perception.

He is currently leading a research project, Within the Surface / Field Paintings, in which he has grown a field of flax near Wirksworth and woven his own linen canvas with the crop.

An exploration and hands on workshop exploring the traditional materials involved in oil painting, (linen, linseed oil, gesso, pigments) and how these materials are connected to our local environment. As well as plenty of interesting contextual information you will create and take away your own oil paintings and learn techniques that have been in use for centuries.
